We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Assistant with experience in payroll processes, responsible for ensuring accurate and timely employee payments. This role involves managing timekeeping records, processing payroll data, calculating wages and deductions, resolving discrepancies, and preparing basic reports for the finance team.
The ideal candidate has prior experience in payroll or accounting functions, is proficient in systems such as ADP, QuickBooks, or Paychex, and possesses basic bookkeeping knowledge to provide additional support when needed. Strong organizational, communication, and confidentiality skills are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify and maintain employee timekeeping records
- Collect and organize timesheets and payroll data
- Enter payroll information into the system and update records as needed
- Calculate wages, overtime, deductions, and reimbursements accurately
- Process payroll transactions and ensure timely payments
- Resolve payroll discrepancies with employees and supervisors
- Prepare basic payroll reports for HR or finance
- Provide support with some bookkeeping tasks for a short period of time, as needed
Requirements
- 1 to 2 years of experience in payroll or related accounting functions
- Experience with timekeeping systems and payroll software
- Proficiency in software such as ADP, QuickBooks, or Paychex
- Basic to intermediate bookkeeping knowledge
- Ability to provide temporary support with basic bookkeeping tasks
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle confidential information
Preferred:
- Previous experience supporting bookkeeping tasks
- Studies in accounting, business, or finance
- Payroll certifications are a plus
